Remy Martin Louise XIII is the highest quality of cognac on the market today. It has been carefully tended by three generations of Remy Martin cellar masters. Remy Martin Louis XIII uses only grapes from the Grande Champagne region which guarantees it’s unique, exclusive quality. The blend consists of eaux de vie, aged between 40 and 100 years old, then it is aged in tiercons, barrels that are several years old, in cellars set apart for it alone.
The Louis XIII Grande Champagne has been enjoyed by some of the most important and influential people ever, including Christian Dior, Elton John, Queen Elizabeth II and Winston Churchill, who celebrated his election victory with it in 1951.
All of this goes into making a bottle of Remy Martin Louis XIII and to top it off, the decanter is baccarat crystal. So to sum it up, this bottle is monumental.
It’s colour is very dark and golden yellow with a fiery red tint and mahogany hue. The first nose is of narcissus, jasmine, very old tawny port, cigar box scent, saffron, nutmeg and passion fruit. Then there is a second nose of violet, iris, litchi, pineapple, eucalyptus and sandalwood. Much the same as there are two noses, there are also two palates, with the first one being very concentrated and splendidly rich in aromas, warm and harmonious. The second one being of high complexity including aromas from the first and second noses. The finish is exceptionally long last up to an hour!
