Glenmorangie 18 Year Whisky 70cl

Glenmorangie 18 year old is a single malt Scotch whisky that is beautifully blended even though it’s a single malt. Once the Whisky is ready to be matured it is placed in American White oak casks for 15 years, then approximately 30% of the whisky is taken out and transferred into Spanish Oloroso casks to spend a further three year maturing. During these three years the whisky accumulates all the flavour from the Oloroso casks. Then once both elements have reached 18 years, it is then blended back together to create a whisky with a rich bouquet and full, rounded flavour.

For an 18 year old whisky the colour is a nice honey gold, with an aroma of rich rounded and sweet dried fruits with a complex floral fragrance. On the palate it is balanced between honey, malt and flowery scents with dates and figs emerging in the background with a hint of wood smoke. The finish is long and enticing with the sweetness of dried fruit with a subtle dryness of Oloroso nuttiness.
