The range has only been around for a few years and already it has developed quite the reputation as a unique and highly sophisticated dram. Combining the power of the world’s most heavily peated barley with the purity and elegance of spirit produced by the classic long necked Bruichladdich stills.
The Ocotomore was voted single malt of the year in 2010 by none other than the man they say is made of whisky, Jim Murray. The one comment that was on everyone’s mind, including Jim Murray’s, is what would this already magnificent dram develop into with more ageing. For the first time this question can be answered, but only for a few individuals as Bruichladdich have only released 6000 bottles of this first Octomore 10 year old.
