MANDAMUS is the twenty-ninth release (Mark XXIX) in the Award-Winning Exceptional Cask Selection series. We respectfully suggest that you seek this bottling out. This is a blend of Rums distilled in the copper double retort pot-still and the continuous twin column stills of FOURSQUARE RUM DISTILLERY, and aged for sixteen years in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Port casks.

More specifically for the detail-oriented, it is largely a dual-maturation comprising ten years in ex-Bourbon, followed by six years in ex-Tawny Port casks. This excellent expression of Single Blended Rum* has been distilled and fully matured at FOURSQUARE RUM DISTILLERY before blending and bottling, presented at 57% alcohol by volume, without chillfiltration, at its natural colour, and free from sweeteners and other adjuncts.

Nose: A glorious rich, fruity, jammy rush of blackberries, ripe pineapple, tart plum and cherries. Lots of sultanas, vanilla caramel, along with hints of ginger, hazelnuts, walnuts, and blackcurrant vines.

Palate: Soft and sweet onto the palate, lots of juicy ripe black cherries, raspberries, and victoria plums. More sulatanas, and a hint of zesty orange

Finish: Bitter chocolate, and black tea. White pepper and and a hint of chilli pepper warmth in the long lasting, toasty, gently smokey, oaky grip

It's far too easy to get lost in the aromas of this long aged, complex blend that is instantly, unmistakably recognisable as being from Foursquare Rum Distillery. The 57% ABV presentation strength may sound high to those unfamiliar with the output of Foursquare, but its softness over the palate guarantees to both surprise and delight with its accessibility.
