Royal Lochnagar Distillery

Founded in the early 1820's, Royal Lochnager distillery was burnt down in suspicious circumstances in 1824, and again in 1841.

In 1845, John Begg rebuild the "new" Lochanager distillery, which was awarded its Royal warrant in 1848 after Begg invited Prince Albert to pay a visit whilst he was at Balmoral Castle.The next day the distillery was visited by Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their children.

Lochnager are the producers of single malt Scotch whisky, of which most in used in Johnnie Walker Black and Blue labels. With a relitavely small production, Royal Lochnager sell a select range of their whiskies to the world.
