Founded in 2001, Hudson originally bought the Tuthilltown Gristmill with the ideal to turn it into a rock climbing ranch. With it's history as a grain mill, Hudson decided to turn it into a whiskey distillery instead. With a lot of work and dedication, New York had it's first whiskey distillery since the Prohibition.
Whilst the distillery was being built, the team travelled to distilleries and met experts, to learn how to make fine whiskey and gain knowledge. With the new distillery ready for action, it took Hudson six months of experimenting to come up with the perfect recipe for the whiskies they desired to produce.
