It was the 1950's and André Miclo ran the family business, distributing water, wine, spirits and beers to restaurants in the valler of Lapoutroie, France. His young son, Gilbert began assisting him once he was in his teens, and started to learn about the business.
the 1960's saw Gilbert begin to collect the schnapps made in local distilleries, and soon was selling them on his rounds. As he grew older, Gilbert noticed the quality of the schnapps varied too much, and decided to take advantage of the rich, beautiful fruits surrounding the valley, and so began the journey of G,Miclo Liqueurs.
With the distillery first built in 1970, G.Miclo began life with two simple stills and a lot of patience.Gradually, by showing patience and perseverance, he managed to refine the quality of his eaux-de-vie, and slowly they revealed all the aromatic intensity of the fruit. By 1976, the popularity of his beautiful liqueurs led to the company moving to a bigger distillery to keep up with the demands. Over time they begin to export their wonferful produce, and introduced the world to the taste sensations that are G,Miclo Liqueurs.
Today, G.Miclo is still run by the family, and you are able to go and visit the distillery itself.Read More
