Tequila

What is Tequila?
Tequila is fun yet a powerful spirit that has its roots firmly set in Mexico. Made exclusively from the blue agave plant and is distilled to create a variety of different types and flavours.
There are several types of tequila, including blanco or silver, reposado, and añejo. Blanco, being the most popular tequila, is unaged and has a clear, fresh flavour, while reposado tequila is aged for a minimum of two months, resulting in a smoother, more complex taste. Añejo tequila is aged in barrels longer, for at least one year and has a rich, deep flavour with notes of caramel and oak.
How best to enjoy Tequila
The versatility of tequila, means it can be enjoyed in many ways, for example, to sip it neat, allowing you to savour its unique flavour profile. Whilst, some people may enjoy a "shot", another popular way to enjoy tequila is in a cocktail, like a margarita, which is made with tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. Other popular tequila cocktails include the Paloma, which features tequila and grapefruit soda, and the Tequila Sunrise, made with tequila, orange juice, and grenadine.
When drinking tequila, we suggest choosing a high-quality brand and taking your time savouring the flavours. Tequila is best served chilled or at room temperature, and it should be sipped slowly to fully appreciate its complex taste.
Whether you prefer it neat or in a cocktail, tequila is a versatile and enjoyable spirit that is sure to delight your taste buds.
