Ron Los Valientes rum comes from the town Veracruz in eastern Mexico and is produced by the Villanueva family who have been producing rum for over three generations. Los Valientes is produced in small batches using their famous sugar cane that has been producing rum for over 500 years. Both the juice and the molasses from the sugar cane go into making the rum which is then double distilled in pot stills. Only the heart of the spirit is taken from the second distillation which is then blended with column distilled, fast fermented molasses from the same crop. The blended rum is at a ratio of 70% pot-distilled rum from sugar cane and 30% column-distilled molasses rum. The rum is then aged in used white oak barrels for 15 years, prolonging the ageing period because the barrels have been used.
Each bottle is individually signed and numbered from the cell master.
