Madeira Wine is a type of fortified wine made in the Madeira Islands in Portugal. It is usually produced in a variety of styles ranging from dry wines which can be consumed on their own as an aperitif, to sweet wines more usually consumed with dessert. Often used in cooking, Madeira wines have all the ingredients for a great evening.

Did you know?: Madeira Wine came about by accident; barrels of wine being transported to Australia experienced a heat up of 45 degrees and developed a unique taste. Now, the same process is replicated in special ovens called 'estufas'.
