Hailing from Southern Italy, Limoncello is a wonderful Italian lemon liqueur traditionally made form the zest of the Femminello St. Teresa lemons, also known as Sorrento or Sfusato lemons. The zest is then seeped in rectified spirits, until the oils are released and the resulting lemon spirit is mixed with a simple sugar syrup, balancing out the flavours of this delightful liqueur.

Similar is Limoncino, which is a Northern Italian variant of the drink.
