Hundreds of years ago the Cuervo family started making tequila in the town of tequila underneath the tequila volcano. They knew that the only way to make great tequila is to get everyone working together as a family. To make the Jose Cuervo they hand pick the best agave, then it is pruned, slow baked, pressed distilled and then aged in oak barrels. It is not a quick process but it is the best way to make Jose Cuervo gold tequila.
