Produced in Peidmont, Italy, this traditional liqueur is the original hazelnut liqueur with its authentic flavours and historic background. It is created using freshly toasted wild hazelnuts, combined with vanilla berries and cacao to produce the rich yet delicate and natural flavours of Frangelico liqueur.
Synonymous with Frangelico liqueur, the decadent and complex flavours are achieved through four key stages. Firstly, the Tonda Gentile hazelnuts which are a speciality of the northern Piedmont region, are shelled, toasted and crushed then infused with a solution of alcohol and water. Next, part of this infusion is used to produce a natural hazelnut distillate. Then, the Frangelico concentrate is produced through the blend of the hazelnut infusion and distillate with natural flavours including cocoa, coffee and vanilla berries. Finally, the concentrated Frangelico is carefully blended with pure alcohol, water and sugar to achieve the required strength, and is left for 6-8 weeks to allow the blend to marry and intensify the unique flavours.
Frangelico engages with its historical background, using the appearance of its bottle. Shaped like a monk and accentuated with the traditional rope, this classic liqueur boasts authenticity, maturity and quality. Frangelico is best enjoyed alone, on the rocks or in a myriad of drinks and coffees.
