Each vintage, the Hardys winemakers select the best Chardonnay to carry the “Eileen Hardy” label. By taking a selection of cool climate regions where only the best parcels of fruit are selected, handpicked, naturally fermented and placed in high quality French oak, the hallmarks of this outstanding wine are formed.
65% underwent malolactic fermentation until the acid balance and texture were in harmony, and the wine was then allowed to mature for 10 months in order to build texture. The 2010 Eileen Hardy is a Chardonnay that sets the style trend, exemplifying cool climate Chardonnay at its very best.
Deep straw with green hues.
Bright aromas of citrus combine with light toasty oak and a delightfully complexing ‘funk’.
Following through from the bouquet, fresh citrus and grapefruit spice flavours abound, while textural pith, hazelnuts and cream compliment the juicy mineral acidity and deliver a fine, long finish.
