Named after the town of Cognac in France, cognac is produced using ugni blanc grapes. It must be distilled twice in copper pots and aged at least 2.5 years and is universally recognised as one of the historically great spirits of our time.

There is a strict legal criteria enforced by the Bureau National Interprofessionel du Cognac in which if the standards are not met, the product cannot be called a cognac.

After 4 years of ageing, it's called VSOP (very superior old pale) and after 6, its XO (extra old)
