A fermented alcoholic beverage made from fruit juice, most commonly apple juice but also the juice of peaches or other fruits. Cider varies in alcohol content from 2% ABV to 8.5% or more in traditional English ciders.

Ciders can be classified from dry to sweet. Their appearance ranges from cloudy with sediment to completely clear, and their colour ranges from light yellow through orange to brown.
