Veuve Clicquot

Madame Clicquot was an audacious woman. When her husband died in 1805, she took over the reins of the House at the age of just 27, with one motto: “Only one quality, the finest”.

Curious and innovative, Madame Clicquot was every bit as elegant, with an innate joy, optimism and delight that continue to be the driving force behind Veuve Clicquot today.

She was a demanding producer and a visionary for the outstanding character of her wines in terms of winemaking, blending and taste.

The signature of Maison Veuve Clicquot is Pinot Noir; the House has treasured this grape variety since the very beginning. Its role is extremely important for Veuve Clicquot; the quality of the Pinot Noir harvest will determine whether a year will be declared a vintage.
