St Bernadus Tripel is pale amber in colour with a big, frothy head and a fruity yet floral taste. A fine example of a tripel beer, by all accounts.

More Information

A tripel beer is a type of strong pale ale that originates from the Low Countries. The etymology of the name is unclear, but the main theories are that it indicates strength, either by a series of marks, such as crosses, on a cask - X for the weakest strength, XX for medium strength, and XXX for the strongest beer - or that it refers to the original gravity of a beer which roughly corresponds to 3% ABV, 6% ABV and 9% ABV.
