Gin is a flavoured white spirit made by distilling grains such as barley, corn or rye. Many natural but unusual ingredients are included in the process such as coriander, orange peel and nutmeg to name a few.

Gin was originally for medicinal purposes and dates back to the 17th Century where it originated in Holland.

Fact: Gin is the reason for the term ‘Dutch courage’ and came about through the English soldiers’ consumption and thereafter instant courage during wartime conditions.

Fact: Gin is a staple ingredient in various modern day cocktails such as the Martini and the quintessential mixed paradise Gin & Tonic.
