Jose Cuervo

The year is 1758; Jose Antonio de Cuervo y Valdes took formal possesion of  La Hacienda Confradiade Las Animas, and all the agave plants contained. Under his stewardship the number of agave plants, and spirits produced, increased per annum. on 15th January 1795, Jose received licence from the king to sell the spirits he had produced. Fast forward to 1880, and things were changing. Jose Cuervo was named the best tequila in Mexico. With the help of the latest distillation machinery, 10,000 barrels of Jose Cuervo tequila was sold in Guadalajara alone that year.From 1852, America had been introduced to Jose Cuervo tequila and it was gaining popularity. 

1942 saw a new range of advertisements, with Margarita cocktails gaining status, tequila was more popular than ever. Jose Cuervo's range was growing and it is now the number one selling tequila in the world, holding its place in bars, restaurants and homes worldwide.
