Cragganmore

Situated in the village of Ballindalloch in Banffshire, Scotland, Cragganmore was originally founded in 1869, when John Smith leased a plot of land from Sir George Macpherson-Grant.Chosen for its proximityto the waters of the Craggan burn and because it was close to the Strathspey Railway, Smith knew it was the optimum location to begin his own distillery. An experienced distiller, John Smith had previously worked for Macallan, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas and Wishaw distilleries, and decided it was time to take what he had learnt, and begin a distillery of his own.
